Week 21:-: Succession: Pass on the baton.

Objective: •            Get leaders to commit to setting up a plan for ensuring succession and not just success. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2 Congratulations on getting up to this point in your training. We pray and believe that these twenty-one (21) weeks of training, has had a profound impact on your life and leadership. Leadership is a journey rather than a destination, so we dare say, your learning has just began. I don’t know about you but, it is sorry to see countless promising businesses which die because of the shortsightedness of a manager/owner who did not appropriately plan for succession when they were still alive. The true success of a leader lies in his/her ability to pass on the baton of leadership to the next generation. No matter how many bus...

Week 20:-: Signposts – The ultimate goal of servant leadership.

Objective : Get leaders to review their ultimate mission. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 It is easy to get so involved in the daily activities of empowering others, accomplishing goals and celebrating success that a leader forgets the most important reason why they are here on Earth. Nothing we build here on earth is going to last forever. Your most important function as a servant leader, is to serve as a signpost, pointing people to the light of the world, Jesus. Do not get me wrong, a Servant Leader is called to the highest level of service and integrity. You are called to: Work as unto God not unto men. The direct implication is you should see God as you...

Week 19 :-: Resilience- Preparing for dark days.

Objective: Learn what it takes to adapt successfully and bounce back in the presence of risk, adversity, setbacks, high-stress situations and trauma. “ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;  we are  afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;  …”.2 Corinthians 4:7-9 If you stick around long enough as a leader, you will experience situations of high stress, setbacks or other events that may have a significant negative impact on you. Resilience is the ability to bounce back after adversity. A leader or team member with low personal resilience will be irritable, moody, easily depressed and may show signs of poor memory as well as of being in despair and hopelessness. This is not only very dangerous for the individual but may also have a negative impact on t...

Week 18:-: Develop a win-win culture

Objectives: ·          Understand why it is important to develop a win-win culture. ·          Craft strategies to help you develop a culture of win-win. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10. What is one of the big things that breaks friendships and destroys teamwork? If you said conflict, you are right. Conflicts show up in different ways (quarrels, disagreements, temper tantrums etc.) but generally have the same results, if not handled correctly. While there is really almost nothing you can do to completely prevent conflicts, as a servant leader, there is a lot you can do to build a culture that encourages a win-win mentality. Where humans are concerned, there will be comparisons and competitions which will in turn lead to conflict. Knowing how to manage conflict is a key skill for all leaders as either pretending that conflict does...

Week 17 :-: Discipline – Overcoming stagnation

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him]. Psalms 126: 5-6 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:27 Personal discipline is the vehicle through which leaders can achieve their mission. Without personal discipline, goal setting is futile, and prioritization is useless. Servant Leadership success hangs on the thread of a life lived in obedience to God’s leading. God is on a mission to redeem men and women (young and old) back to a right relationship with Him and as a servant leader, you are a vital part of that mission. He communicates His kingdom’s agenda to His disciples through the Bible, prayer, circumstances and His Church which can only be executed by men and women who are willing to submit themselves to the discipline of His leadership. Psalms 1...
